Country Roads Cruise In

Country Roads Cruise In

On Friday night our family drove to Jefferson County, West Virginia for Jersey Mike’s Subs and to view some classic cars in front of the Home Depot. We were not disappointed. On most Friday nights one can catch these classic cars from Country Roads Car Club.

The goal of Country Roads Car Club, is to maintain a non-profit activity that donates time and money to help other community works as a part of its function. We are simply a group of auto sport enthusiasts, which help the community and have fun doing it.

Here are a few more of the cars that we saw. I apologize that I am not able to give the details on each of the cars.

It was rather fun to see Kermit the frog stop by to enjoy.

Aligators were seen to in the rumble seat.

Some of the cars had wide fat tires like this one.

Many of the cars has powerful big engines.

“It didn’t matter how big our house was; it mattered that there was love in it.”

 Peter Buffett

“Cherish every moment with those you love at every stage of your journey.”

 Jack Layton

However, some were a bit more of the "Gentleman's" Variety.

I even saw a Mini!

Yet, the important part was that we were spending time together as a Family!

Spending time with my own family is something near and dear to my heart – especially since I grew up in a very negative and toxic family environment until I entered Foster Care. Even then, it wasn’t something good or that I was proud of. Maybe for me, having time with my family and friends are the "Mini" things that matter in the most powerful way even if we are not perfect.

Kristen Harding from My Family Care explains, spending quality time together is important – it helps our children to feel more confident and secure, builds stronger family bonds and is good for our own emotional health. Heck, this is true for adults too!

Truth is, I know I am lucky – not everyone has a family and may wish to have these close bonds. Families are not always blood related. They are built with unique and often rare individuals you meet on your road of life.

“Families are the compass that guides us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter.”
 Brad Henry

My Family is different and even when we are cruising with much activity, it is so nice to have these simple moments together.

Some people look at our family and think ‘there’s something just a little different about them’ – and I wouldn’t change that for the world!

“Families are messy. Immortal families are eternally messy. Sometimes the best we can do is to remind each other that we’re related for better or for worse…and try to keep the maiming and killing to a minimum."
Rick Riordan
