Who is Ginger Dawn Harman?
My passion for reading began at the age of four, I set up my own library with check out cards for other children in the neighborhood. My mother was rather shocked at the details I included with my personal Dewey Decimal System. Reading later became an escape for me and provided a safe and reassuring place for me to go. I once even ran away to a library, however I hid in the True Crime section. I became so terrified while looking over the books on the shelf that I tearfully confessed my crime to the librarian.
Sharing books and stories became a further passion when I worked at Graceland and performed at Playhouse on the Square in Memphis, Tn. Moreover, during the time I lived in Naples, Italy, I taught at the DOD schools where I further developed this skill of storytelling and sharing books. While employed at a local psychiatric hospital in San Antonio, Texas, I was able to help many of the adjudicated teens to appreciate the same connection with fictional characters and experience the same hope that I desperately searched for as a teen.
|I was named after Hurricane Ginger and was born at dawn.|
